Saturday at the College of the Desert Outdoor Market

Sunday at La Quinta's quaint Farmer's Market

It doesn't get more "California" than this. Designer dogs in backpacks, amazing fruit and vegetables picked very close by, everyone carrying home fresh eggs and local bread.

We've been eating strawberries everyday since then. Sliced strawberries with sugar and Meyer lemon juice. I can't quite get enough.

I love, love, love outdoor markets and farm grown fruits & vegetables. The weather is warming up here, FINALLY!, so I'm looking forward to taking in a few of those myself soon.

Oh that sounds wonderful! I just can't wait until summertime and the farmer's markets that abound. Everything seems to taste so much better when bought from the farm or handpicked. We too, have had strawberries lately, but ours are from last summer's crop. I slice them and put them in freezer containers. Almost as good as fresh!! I've never tried putting lemon juice on them. I'll try it.

Ooh! I love farmer's markets! We have a local one that starts up in May and I can't wait! I love to go there with my mom, enjoy the sun, and check out the local vendors. It doesn't get much better. I'm gonna try to grow some strawberries this year & will try your lemony concoction! Sounds yummy! :)

Hey there Miss Molly!! What's shakin'?? Today is the first day that I'm willing to say that I might be past the hump - regarding the damned toe. It is noticeably better today, so I think I'm gonna make it. Thanks for asking.
