These summer sunrises aren't nearly as dramatic as the colorful winter ones. And once the sun peaks over the hill I have to lean around my big lamp and hide from the eye-blinding rays. Sunrise down here is around 5:30, and sunset is close to 7:30.
We are driving down to Puerto Vallarta this weekend for a week of laziness and civilization. I'll try to capture interesting shots of stuff we don't see around here.

I have a special talent for living vicariously through others, so I'm really looking forward to "our" trip to Mexico. I'm sure we'll have a great time!
Yes, we certainly will. Tell me what you'd like to see and I'll try to find it. Oh, and pack your umbrella. There's bound to be afternoon showers.
Another amazing view...your blog aways "takes me away." Thanks for sharing the lovely photo.
What an amazing shot! Living on the coast for two years, and I still have not seen the sun come up over the ocean, nor seen it go down... or the moon come up...
Cant wait to see pix from your trip!
I've never been to that part of Mexico, so I'll let you do the driving. Sun, surf, sand. It's all good.
I showed my hubby your blog and pics. You live in the most beautiful place!!! Your views, your writing area, your horse corrals below... sigh... I am so envious!!!
I could ask a thousand super personal questions about living down there, but I will refrain. I've spent a lot of time down Baja and some in "central" Mexico and just introduced my hubby to it. He's scared to death to go down there, me, I want to live right next door to you!!! I would LOVE to ride my horse around there and explore..
Keep showing us the beauty of Mexico!!! We love it!!!
Hi Mikey,
It's different living down here, but we feel extremely safe. I understand the unknown is always scary and news stories can scare even the Mexicans. Truly we get more cautious when we get up to the states.
Ask anything you like. I kind of think these blogs are good for sharing.
Mrs. Mom, we are those odd people who are early to bed and early to rise. Pretty boring.
Maddy's Mom, When are you coming down to help with Bella?
Holy moly that's gorgeous, and if the winter sunrises are even more colorful, that does it. I'm sellin' the ranch and movin' to old Mexico. Actually, the first person who put the idea into my head of cashing out of the east coast and moving somewhere less expensive suggested old Mexico. I got it half right, I guess.
Your daylight hours are shorter than hours. I guess I never realized that before. I sure am enjoying summer, will be sad to see it depart.
Your pics are beautiful regardless of what time of year.
I passed on an award for your blog and its beautiful photographs. Stop by my site to save off the picture, if you'd like.
