Fashion Police

Thankfully the fashion police weren't out yesterday as we took our trail ride. My capri jeans are my favorite riding pants, and when coupled with my ropers are always an attractive statement, however now that I see it from this perspective it doesn't enhance my fabulous body or look as I imagined. The jeans are a size too large so sitting and moving are easier. The Fresh Produce shirt is short to the waist. Under the shirt is only a jog bra. Put that all together with a peek-a-boo leg and you've got no-no's galore.

Since I was a young rider I've never ever cared how I looked on my horse. I always put on what was comfortable for the season and trail. Luckily the horses never spoke up to either compliment or complain about the dress code I chose. But after always thinking I look OK, and now seeing with my own eyes I might be mistaken, I will be picking through my closet a little more...complimentary shall we say.

However, if this is all I see I'll fall right back into my old habits.

You wear what you want and keep looking down that gorgeous dappled neck.

After a certain point (I think it's 20 years old and 100 lbs.) not much contemporary riding apparel looks good. I think you look better in your capris than I look in my Kerrits. In fact, I think I might find some riding capris because they seem an improvement!

I used to run to the grocery store in my old not-quite-so-stretchy twill breeches. No way am I going anywhere in my Kerrits. I might be arrested for cellulite exposure.

Your capris are working for you. My suggestion is to get a few more pair.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if I came upon you riding unexpectedly, I would probably only notice your horse. :o) I would be able to describe her in detail to people later, but I'd be hard pressed to remember your name, much less what you were wearing.

Case in point, I know the names of all the dogs in my apartment building, but only a handful of my neighbours by name.

I say, wear what feels comfortable.

The horse doesn't care what you're wearing, as long as your comfortable with him and that you guys get to have a great time! I love working with the animals and never having to care how I look, whether I'm dressed or not. They never mind!

You look mahvelous!! Seriously the only worry would be bug bites on the bare leg... Last summer I did a group horse camping trip and there were several young lassies with what I'd have to call 'plumber's crack' above their low-cut jeans. It seemed so wrong...

I agree, your comfort is the most important thing, someone with a camera is always going to make one feel a little self-conscious. Horses don't know how to use cameras. I ride English in jeans, suede half-chaps and paddock boots. Miss has never rolled her eyes once.

LOL...Darling hits the trails these days with her roper boots and cut off jeans. The two of you would make a great team!

I am with Carolynn..can't get past that dappled beauty to even notice the outfit! You're wearing what I always "want" to wear, but instead I wear the too hot breeches and boob smashing bra. Look at it this way...Bella has a much more comfort savvy rider:-)

I found your blog through NuzMuz and I had to giggle when I saw your post about wearing short pants and lace up boots. :-) Whatever works and doesn't rub!
