Bella had her first set of shoes tapped on gently by Hoel. He is the only shoer who has handled Bella and there was no drama. I'm going out this morning when it gets light to see if she still is standing on all 4 feet. After he was done and paid ($25 and I bought the shoes and nails in the US a few weeks ago) she seemed rooted in the same spot. I'm not sure about that. Hoel got a little sweaty since it was warm but Bella didn't. Ho Hum.

Hoel has cut and scraped Bella's feet for 3 years. Most of this was just the some old stuff to her.

Sonora, the oldest dog at the farm, knows to hang around for nice new horse hoof clippings.

Bella looks so calm and nonchalant. What a beautiful presence to have around. Sonora looks pretty relaxed too. How great that you have such a reliable, competent and gentle farrier for Bella.

That's so funny!! She's probably adjusting to the fact that her feet are now so much heavier than before. I'm sure she'll be fine once she figures out she really can walk. Silly girl... $25!!! Wow, that's so cheap even if you did buy the shoes/nails yourself. Gotta love that.
Your Bella is such a cutie!

It's nice that Bella took to the shoeing so calmly. I will be interesting to see if she isn't moving because of them, however.

I have a friend who was telling me just last night the story of a mare who hated her shoes so, she laid down and tried to pull them off with her teeth. Can you imagine? LOL

Horses, they can be such characters!

Wow, $25 for a trim and shoes. That's pretty cool.
